Shipping & Delivery Policy

1. How DakBox Delivery Works

DakBox is not a courier company. Items are carried by verified individual travelers ("carriers") who carry items in their personal luggage on their actual flights. This is peer-to-peer delivery, not commercial shipping. DakBox connects senders and shoppers with these carriers and facilitates the transaction, but does not itself transport goods.

2. Delivery Routes

Currently supported routes:

  • Japan → Bangladesh — all major Japanese cities to Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, and other cities.
  • Bangladesh → Japan — Dhaka to major Japanese cities.

3. Estimated Delivery Times

Delivery time depends on carrier availability:

  • Japan → Bangladesh: typically 3–21 days from booking confirmation (depends on the next available carrier flight).
  • Bangladesh → Japan: typically 3–21 days.
  • DakBox Shop orders: 14–30 days (includes sourcing time + carrier matching + last-mile delivery).

DakBox does not guarantee specific delivery dates. Delivery depends on the carrier's actual flight schedule.

4. Bangladesh Last-Mile Delivery

After the carrier arrives in Bangladesh:

  • Dhaka (within city): RedX or Pathao courier, typically 1–2 days after the carrier arrives.
  • Outside Dhaka: RedX nationwide delivery, typically 2–5 days after the carrier arrives.
  • Hub collection (Azampur office): available for customers who prefer to collect in person.

5. Item Restrictions

Items must comply with:

Maximum item value: ¥200,000 per booking. DakBox is not responsible for items prohibited by customs authorities.

6. Customs & Import Duties

  • The carrier is responsible for declaring all items at customs in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Import duties (if assessed by Bangladesh customs) are the responsibility of the sender/customer.
  • DakBox cannot predict or guarantee customs outcomes.
  • For DakBox Shop orders, customs duties are listed as ৳0 in quotes (variable — the customer's responsibility).

7. Tracking

Customers can track their order status in real time through the DakBox app or website dashboard:

Booking confirmed → Item handed over → In transit → Arrived in Bangladesh → Out for delivery → Delivered

8. Failed Delivery

If delivery fails (wrong address, or the customer is not available):

  • The carrier or last-mile courier will attempt re-delivery once.
  • The customer must contact +8801912555515 within 24 hours of the failed delivery.
  • After 7 days without contact, the item may be returned to the Dhaka office for collection.

9. Item Loss or Damage

  • Report any loss or damage within 48 hours of the expected delivery.
  • Carrier liability is limited to the declared item value, up to ¥200,000.
  • DakBox facilitates dispute resolution but is not directly liable for carrier actions.
