Sender Agreement

Version 1.0 · Last updated: June 27, 2026

This Sender Agreement (“Agreement”) is a binding contract between you (the “Sender”) and the operator of DakBox before you may complete a booking on the platform. By checking the acceptance box at booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to every section below.

1. What DakBox Is (and Is Not)

DakBox is a peer-to-peer marketplace platform that connects senders with independent travelers between Japan and Bangladesh. DakBox is not a courier company, freight forwarder, or logistics provider, and operates on the same marketplace model as platforms such as Airbnb or Coconala.

Carriers are independent individuals carrying items in their own personal baggage. They are not employees or agents of DakBox, and DakBox does not handle, store, transport, import, or export any item.

2. Sender Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must provide accurate descriptions and declared values for every item you send.
  • Items must be legal to export from Japan (or from Bangladesh on the reverse route) and legal to import at the destination.

3. Item Declaration & Accuracy

  • You are solely responsible for the accurate description, declared value, and customs compliance of each item you send.
  • You must not misrepresent items to the carrier or to customs authorities.
  • Providing false item information is grounds for immediate account suspension and may result in legal liability.
  • You are responsible for the proper and safe packaging of your items.

4. Customs & Import Compliance

  • You understand that items carried by a traveler may be subject to Bangladeshi (or Japanese) customs duties and import restrictions.
  • You are responsible for any customs duty costs unless otherwise agreed in writing with the carrier.
  • DakBox accepts no liability for items seized, delayed, or subjected to duties at customs.

5. Prohibited Items

  • The same prohibited-items rules that apply to carriers apply to you. See the Prohibited Items list, which forms part of this Agreement.
  • Sending a prohibited item results in immediate account suspension and may be reported to the relevant authorities.

6. Payment

  • You pay the 15% DakBox platform fee online at booking confirmation.
  • The carrier fee (the remaining 85%) is paid directly to the carrier on agreed terms. DakBox is not responsible for, and is not a party to, this direct payment.
  • Refunds: the platform fee is refunded if the carrier cancels. The platform fee is non-refundable if you cancel after the carrier has accepted.

7. Item Loss & Damage

  • In the event of loss or damage, you must report it within 48 hours of the expected delivery time.
  • Claims are processed through DakBox’s dispute-resolution process.
  • The carrier’s maximum liability is the item’s declared value, up to ¥200,000 per booking.
  • DakBox is not liable for item loss or damage but will facilitate the dispute process.

8. Governing Law

  • This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
  • Disputes will first be addressed through DakBox’s internal dispute-resolution process, and thereafter, if necessary, before the competent courts of Japan.
  • The Japanese-language version of this Agreement is authoritative in the event of any conflict with a translation.
